History Class (Open)

Hanabi skipped into the class, a smile plastered warmly on her face, and looked arounf brightly, bouncing to a nearby desk and sitting down delicately. The teacher wasn't there yet, and Hanabi was surprisingly looking forward to her first ever school class. She'd flicked through the textbook before hand, her quick, trained brain taking in the information like a freak sponge; she could remember every word, every detail, but something told her she shouldn't admit that. So she sat prettily at her desk, smiling warmly at people as they entered the class and glanced at her unfamiliar face, as unknowing of each other as she was.

The teacher walked in behind the Students (God this reeks of a Naruto RPG entrance LMAO) and sat down at her shiny, wooden desk. She drew up her fabulous chair and leant back against it. Behind her was no ordinary blackboard. It was a virtual reality unit that didn't use googles. It allowed the teacher to play a video in the high-tech DVD player next to her and for the students to walk around the setting. It was the most advanced equipment in the world, on trial. It was very popular when the children were watching Blackadder, that was for sure.

"Today, we have history!" The teacher smiled, not admitting it wasn't her favourite subject. "My name is Katie Opo. Just call me Katie because my last name is worse than many people in history's, as you will find out!" Katie laughed at her own joke. It was true her last name was bad but surely it wasn't worse than... Smith? Oh wait, it was.
"so who wants to learn about the history of the Navy?" The teacher smiled, folding her arms. It was an exciting topic but relatively unknown about.

I enter the class room knowing i would be late, i walk and i sit next to the first girl i see
-hi im hikaru
i say to a girl, i then look at the teacher with a disaproving face
-i came late but i did hear you talkin about learnin about the navy and atleast I dont want to learn about it

(the girl is hanabi)

"I think you will find the Navy interesting actually! You see, we're going to learn about the English Navy." The teacher smiled, picking up a DVD box from one of her open desk drawers. "I will also give you a first-hand glimpse at this Virtual Reality set."
She pulled the DVD from its box with a resounding pop and inserted it into the disk drive in front of her on the desk. It ate it greedily and let off a low hum. Within a few seconds, the image on the screen blared to life.

First, the logo of the company that made the DVD showed. Then it cut off to a 3-D image that seemed to pop out of the screen toward the children. Many gasped and tried to catch the image of a boat rolling on the sea with their fingers.
"It all started in 837..." Began the commentary. "While there were no guns on ships at this time, the Navy of England was merely about King Alfred controlling the seas around Northern England..."

as the move thingy goes by i was sitting next to the girl my brother was talking to "well here he goes" i start to look at the 3-D movie thing but i also listen to my brothers conversation

Rain grinned at the boy and whispered an introduction, "My name's Hanabi, nice to meet you!"
Fortunately, the teacher didn't seem offended by Hikaru's blatent rudeness, which just made Hanabi grin wider. Her eyes widened as well, as the 3D movie began, but as she knew the details of the technology behind it, she was content to smile at it in wonderment, rather than try and reach out to it. A thought crossed her mind as the commentry began, and she put up her hand, patiently waiting for the teacher to pause the video, causing mutters and groans from the class, before speaking.
"I'm not sure if I properly understand the concept of the navy," she began, as her brain dredged up a paragraph from the text book she'd been given the day before. She automatically found herself reciting it, "As far as I know, a navy is the branch of a nation's armed forces principally designated for naval warfare and amphibious warfare; namely, lake- or ocean-borne combat operations and related functions. It includes anything conducted by surface ships, amphibious ships, submarines, and seaborne aviation, as well as ancillary support, communications, training, and other fields; recent developments have included space related operations. The strategic offensive role of a navy is projection of force into areas beyond a country's shores (for example, to protect sea-lanes, ferry troops, or attack other navies, ports, or shore installations). The strategic defensive purpose of a navy is to frustrate seaborne projection-of-force by enemies. The strategic task of the navy also may incorporate nuclear deterrence by use of nuclear missiles. Is that right?" Hanabi gave the teacher a curious, friendly grin.

i look at the hanabi very interested and impressed
-hmm Hanabi your really smart you know
while looking at Hanabi i see my brother Heiwa Ketsuu and i say loudly
-HI Hei whats sup bro!
i stand up and i extend my arm for my brother to give me a high five

"Yes." The teacher replied, keeping the video paused for a few seconds. The 3-D image remained on screen. "The purpose of King Alfred setting out the ships was to defend the country, the final part of anglo-saxon land, from raiders, who were the Danish."
The teacher thought for a moment.
"These ships were new longboats, with striped sails and shields at each side in which the Saxons would throw spears or other projectiles at the enemy forces."
She waited to see if there were any more questions, while glaring slightly at the person who had just stood up.

i look at hikaru standing up and extending his hand, i slap it and i whisper at him "sit down idiot the teacher can give you detention but i don't want detention" i lie back going down like if i was going down in to water so i won't see the other students staring

Rain turned and gave Hikaru a bright smile as he complimented her, smiling at the person who appeared to be his brother, although they had different hair and eye colours. She turned back to the teacher,
"But are you sure the DVD's correct?" she asked curiously, remembering information she had learnt before entering the academy, "Surey naval warfare developed when humans first fought from water-borne vessels. Prior to the introduction of the cannon and ships with sufficient capacity to carry the large guns, navy warfare primarily involved ramming and boarding actions, didn't it? In the time of ancient Greece and the Roman Empire, naval warfare centered on long, narrow vessels powered by banks of oarsmen (such as triremes and quinqueremes) designed to ram and sink enemy vessels or come alongside the enemy vessel so its occupants could be attacked hand-to-hand... That's what i thought...?" She turned and smiled at the brothers, "What do you think?" she asked warmly. "The Romans were using naval forces long before King Alfred's time, as where the greeks..."

i sit back down and i look at Hanabi
-oh if you didn't know he's my twin brother, even if we don't look like it we are identical twins, i can tll you why we look diferent later if you want
i scratch my head as i say abit nervous
-hey since your so smart can you tutor me soetime

"King Alfred is the earliest recorded battle!" The teacher clarified. "But yes, Naval warfare was indeed before this. However, we are only learning about English Warfare. The romans were not British, were they?" The teacher smiled, however not so pleased with the two brothers.

i keep sinking as i see the teacher look at me with a discontent face "oh man now Hikaru did it, im probably on the teachers list" i bring out a book from my bag and i put it up so i wouldn't see the teachers face

Hanabi smiled at Hikaru, "You have the same face, even if your hair and eyes are different, so I could tell you were twins." she grinned brightly, "I'll be happy to tutor you, and you can tell me why you've dyed your hair and wear contacts then, but for now you might do better if you listened!" Sticking her twin out at Hikaru, and giving a warm smile across the room to his twin as he pulled out a copy of the class textbook, Hanabi turned back to the teacher, still smiling, but confused as to why her teacher seemed so... Unknowledgable.
"Actually, I believe that their are hieroglyphs depicting Egyptians partaking in naval warfare, and as the Romans were a major force in Gual (aka France) at the time and were a constant threat, they would be noticed by the Romans, especially as the word "Navy" comes from either greek or latin. Also, I'm pretty sure it was Alfred II who started the navy, and he wasn't around until after 900AD..."

"Let's move on." The teacher frowned, pressing the DVD player again, prompting the 3D images to move again.
"The Danes blocked the entrance of an estuary in which the Saxons fought back. They circled around the Estuary to surprise attack the Danish. At this time, all but a few vikings on the third ship were killed. At the end of the battle, three Saxon ships were one one side of the Estuary... and Six were on the other."
The image on the screen projected a 3-D moving image of the battle that unfolded. It was like watching moving models in front of your eyes. Even the image of water seemed realistic.
"Only one ship with wounded crew made it back." The commentator sounded sad. "Most of them were in no condition to return home..."

i look at the 3-D projection
-actually im talking and stuff becuase i don't understand anything of this stuff plus i know nothing about england im japonese
i lay back and i start to relax as i loook at the projection like if i was watching a movie

i come back up and i look at the girl that has been talking to Hikaru "sorry to say but i have been listening to you guy's conversation, well i just wanted to tell you i am called Heiwa Ketsuu but you can call me Yuumei"

Hanabi grinned brightly, "It's nice to meet you, Yuumei!" she beamed, before turning to the other twin, "Most people in this Academy are Japanese!" she infromed them energetically, "Including me! We're only learning about the British Navy 'coz it's a world-powerful force. The textbook talks about the British, US, Chinese and Japanese Navies', so we'll probably be learning about them later!" Hanabi smiled sweetly at them, secretly surprised that they'd told her their family name so easily; like Hanabi's, the twin's family was pretty well known, although through different sources and for different reasons, and Hanabi had gotten into the habit of only introducing herself with her first name to avoid awkwardness. Hikaru and Heiwa seemed to have no such inhibitions.

The video ended the first chapter within a few more seconds.
"That is the basics of the ... battle." The teacher glanced nervously at Hanabi, flicking her brown plaited hair aside. She took the DVD out of the player and placed it back in the box, with a pop.
"That is the end of History. Please proceed to your next lesson." The teacher smiled sweetly. "However, you may ask me some questions before you go, such as for more information on this battle or about the academy itself. I'm sure this was an informative first lesson for you, regardless of your culture or country of birth."

-awsome it nic to know that most students are japanese
i then notice the lesson was over
-finally it is over!
i stand up and i tap the teacher on the back
-no ofence but your class is very boring
i then walk out of the class room and i wait by the exit

i look at Hikaru and i shake my head disapointed at him he shouldn't tell that to a teacher "hmm well i guess it's time to go" i stand up and i leave the class room, after i pass the exit i say "finnally im out of there"

Hanabi rose as the twins left the room. She personally agreed with Hikaru, the lesson hadn't been nearly as informative as she'd hoped, but she thought she should at least be grateful for the excellent technology with which they'd been taught nothing. She paused at the teachers desk and bow politely, "Thank you for the lesson, it was really informative..."
Hanabi hesitated and then turned and left the room, finding to her surprise that the twins had waited for her, "We have PE now, right?" she smiled excitedly "I wonder what we'll be doing? What sports do you two like?"

"That's no problem." The teacher smiled at Rain, being thankful someone actually was grateful for the lesson. She thought that the students should be happy to learn about other countries, even if they were not of that country.

as Hanabi comes out i put my arm over her shoulder
-well i mostly like soccer,football and basketball
i then start to walk as Hanabi did waiting for Hei to tell Hanabi his favorite sports

"well i like most sports baseball,basketball,soccer,wrestelin,boxing,hockey and surfing what about you Hanabi" i keep on walking as i can see the PE classroom "well where here" i look at the door as it says PE is going to be outside today "well lets go"
